Part 3: The "New Opportunity" to build wealth fast and secure freedom

Wait… did she just say what I think she did?

It was a quiet family dinner, sitting at the kitchen table, in normal conversation I had to have misheard, so I asked my oldest daughter again in somewhat disbelief… "what was that?" I said…

And she repeated it again… "at least we can go outside again"

Whoa… that's what I thought she said, but I just couldn't believe this is where we were, where my kids were happy that the state, the government would allow them to go outside.

In the world I grew up in, this would have been inconceivable, yet here we were.

How in the world did the "land of the free" become a place of totalitarian control, where lives and businesses were arbitrarily ruined…

It all happens, slowly, then suddenly I suppose…

I can still remember exactly where I was standing when I saw on the TV the planes hitting the world trade center on 9/11, and no matter what country you are from, I am sure you do as well.

Every year, we remember the date and tragic event that took thousands of lives, but I also remember that it was a day that more freedom died than at any other time in US history, with the passing of the Patriot Act, and the beginnings of the DHS.

Of course, we can keep going back further, but it's far enough to illustrate my point.

The patriot act gave the Gov and Intelligence community free rein to listen, surveil and spy on American citizens, without any of the protections given to us by the law of the land, like the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution.

Fast forwarding through time, we as citizens of the Democratic western developed world are the proverbial frogs in the pot of boiling water, just getting warmer and warmer, except now, the water has reached its boiling point!

It starts with things "for our protection" and then goes into random and arbitrary laws.

We went from a nation of laws to being ruled by men, who change the rules as they please

A few come to mind over the last few years…

Their business is good, but your business is non-essential, so shut it down
During the Canadian trucker protest,
the gov removed constitutionally protected rights
Made an arbitrary law, not allowed to honk your horn
CA and NY want to outlaw cooking your own food with fire from natural gas
China bans walking dogs, caught 3x's and your pet is executed
In Iran, a woman must cover their head or risk death

I could go on, but all over the world, the Totalitarian state is building strength, even in known free countries like Europe, Canada, Australia, and even the United States.

I never lived under the strict communism of the USSR before it fell, but as a kid growing up, we were taught how bad things were.

People were not allowed to pursue their own life goals but rather had to yield to the state. Do or even say anything out of line with what the state wants and you would end up in the gulag, which was their prison system.

But… today in the United States, the land of the free, we have more people as a percentage locked up in prisons now, than the USSR gulag did, at the height of its power.

One of the biggest areas we are really being attacked in free countries is Speech and Assembly.

The State doesn't want us to become educated, share ideas, and think for ourselves.

In the book "Anatomy of the State" by Murray Rothbard, he tells us:

"The greatest danger to the state is independent intellectual criticism"

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) even put out a warning stating that anyone opposed to the government's views and opinions was a Terror Threat!

And this isn't going to get better on its own.

Rothbard explains that the State's goal is to grow its size and power, and as people wake up, think for themselves and push back, the state must respond with more suppression of freedom to try to hang onto their power.

Sounds terrible right, well, it is, but this is the path we are on, unless…

Unless we do something about it and luckily, we have a model to follow and a plan!

So let's dig into that!

The human drive for freedom is inside of all of us, and it's too strong for governments to hold back and suppress, which is why history is a repeating story of:

Freedom > Oppression > Revolution > Freedom > Oppression > Revolution >

When governments become too oppressive, humans will find a way.

While governments continue to grow and become more corrupt, those that want freedom, become enemies of the state and are demonized if they want to dissent.

Politicians want us to believe we can vote our way out, as if…

As if democratic ideas are the way to freedom…
As if the political class could be replaced by voting
As if we believed the answer was more government or that government was the answer at all.

A Better Solution:

A better more practical solution would be to allow the aging and failing state to collapse upon itself. As we know…

Their ideas won't work, and we can see the nation-states crumbling from decades of debt from fiat money printing and poor policy decisions.

Our goal should be to work to lessen the blow, and cushion the impact on society through the creation of a brand-new Parallel Society!

Going back to the 1970s, when communism was in full power throughout much of Europe, the USSR, and Germany, we can see how parallel structures played a pivotal role in the fall of communism.

We can also clearly learn how the creation of a parallel society is the best chance we have to return to freedom in a growing authoritarian world!

One of the leaders of the movement of building Parallel Structures in the 1970s was Ivan Jirous, and he said…

"If it proves impossible legally to compel the ruling power to change the ways it governs us, and if for various reasons those who reject this power cannot or do not wish to overthrow by force, then the creation of an independent or alternative or parallel society is the only dignified solution". – Ivan Jirous

Jirous birthed the idea of Parallel Societies as he was working with the Czech rock band "Plastic People of the Universe".

The band was arrested in 1976 for not towing the state party line. So, Ivan called other artists to create music labels, publishing houses, concert halls, art exhibitions, and other structures outside the legacy system, outside mainstream society, and outside the grasp of the communist state.

Jirous believed If enough infrastructure was created, and existed, outside the existing legacy state structure, it could create an "independent society" and function as a pocket of freedom in a harsh and strict authoritarian world.

Jirous considered an independent society to be:

"A society not dependent on official channels of communications, or on the hierarchy of values of the establishment"

So rather than trying to fight against or compete for power with the state which has a monopoly on violence, money, and media, it's better not to face that power head-on.

A much better idea is to just create new structures outside their systems, in a non-violent and non-controversial way.

How To Have Real Impact

For an Independent Society to have a real impact, it needs to cover and extend every part of the economy.
Vaclav Benda, coined the term "Parallel Society" because he believed it needed to extend to all areas of the economy and society, referring to all structures not constrained by the state.

Parallel Structures start out as an act of self-defense, and as more people realize that efforts to improve or change any legacy systems are an exercise in futility, they will realize and join in on building something no one can corrupt, and that is the birth of the Parallel Economy.

In the USSR in the 70s, It served as a source of hope, for the people that were being suffocated by the communist state, and as this grew in the 70s and 80s, it gave the people hope, inspired them, and spread throughout Europe.

By the late 80s, the Parallel Society had grown so strong, decentralized, and decoupled from the state, the communist authority lost its grip on power.

According to H.Gordon Skiulling who wrote Civic Freedom in Central Europe, he said:

"the revolution which swept through Eastern Europe in the closing months of 1989 was a spontaneous product of the massive discontent and the yearning for freedom of the peoples of those countries. It was also a culmination of the independent activities of many citizens as they sought to defend their rights against the party-state system and to create a parallel or independent society as a challenge and an alternative to it."

Ok… that's a lot… I know, thanks for sticking with me…

So now you know how we use the Parallel Structures to secure our freedoms from the rising state structure, and cushion the blow from the eventual crash...

How do we make huge amounts of wealth from this?
