Today on the blog we have an interview with a small business owner who started her own candle shop. 🕯️
I love that BIAB has shared a ton of interviews with business owners this year, whether it's a digital or physical business.
If you want a boost of inspiration, here's where you can find a lot of these feel good posts about starting a business.
Confession time 😬
After getting my start 7 years ago and growing to 3 very different brands, I realized last year that I was still treating parts of my business from a blogger's point of you.
I think this is common. Whether you start off as a podcaster or offering virtual assistant services, it's easy to stay locked into this mind set.
Doing a deep dive into every platform we use (we us sooo many), it was pretty clear it was time to clean up some things and switch gears.
I'm always looking for ways my business do the followings: be more streamlined, efficient, automated and save money (but not be cheap) when it makes sense. ✅
For example, we're switching email platforms (this is my aff link) over the next couple of months as soon as our annual plan comes to an end.
Not only will I save around $1,000 per month 👀 when it comes to making this change, but it's going to be a better visual experience for you and me.
But TBH, I'm tired of getting financially penalized for growth. Every time our email list grows or my traffic grows, I have to pay more. This all seems so outdated. 🤷♀️
There is nothing wrong with the platform we use now, but these changes will better reflect what I want to share with you when I get to pop into your inbox or you visit one of my sites. 💛
With it getting closer to the end of August, I hope you are enjoying your summer!
