【AliExpress Affiliate Program】New Commission Rule

Dear Participants of AliExpress Affiliate Program,

Please kindly be notified that we'll apply the new commission rules BASED ON THE TYPE OF YOUR MAIN ADVERTISING CHANNEL ("Main Advertising Channel") for Qualifying Purchases made by consumers EXCEPT from the Relevant Markets (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakstan, Tajikstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, and Russia), with each type of Main Advertising Channel applying a different set of specific commission rules or rates.

For the avoidance of doubt, for Qualifying Purchases from Relevant Markets, the commission rules effective on Feb, 2020 shall apply, including that the commission rate for the Qualifying Purchases of Non-affiliate Products from Relevant Markets is 0%.

 Estimate of Effective Date:
The New Commission Rules will come into force on about 10th Sept, 2020 PST (estimate).

 Main Changes:
The New Commission Rules, will include, without limitation, the following main changes:
1) the new commission rules or rates will be based on your type of Main Advertising Channel, with each type of Main Advertising Channel applying a different set of specific commission rules or rates, where the application of specific commission rates and corresponding accruing commissions will be on the level of your account (or account of your Sub-participant, if applicable).
2) Your type of Main Advertising Channel will determine the availability of certain privileges, the availability and/or specific rates for certain types of commission, etc,
3) The overall adjustments of the New Commission Rules may include, but dependent on whether applicable to your type of Main Advertising Channel:
3.1) The Qualifying Purchases of Affiliate Products* will be divided into those made by New Buyers and Old Buyers, and different commission rates will apply;
3.2) The Qualifying Purchases of Non-Affiliate Products* will be decreased, or cancelled or remain the same;
3.3) The New Buyer Bonus will be increased, or decreased or cancelled. But for most channels, such decrease or cancellation of the New Buyer Bonus will be based on a higher commission rate for Affiliate Products if Qualifying Purchase is made by New Buyers.
4) Attribution for Qualifying Purchases will be optimized if more single items are promoted and more users are directed to AliExpress product page (Please refer to Portals>Help Center>Ad Center Guide to get single items promotion guide.

*Affiliate Products means products offered for sale on AliExpress,com made available to you via portals.aliexpress.com or designated API, and that can generate a tracking link using the tools at portals.aliexpress.com: Portals>Promo Tools>Link Generator or API>Efficient Tools>Generate Affiliate Links
*Non-Affiliate Products means any product offered for sale on AliExpress.com other than Affiliate Products.

 4 Types of Main Advertising Channels and/or Commission Models and Relevant Factors:
There are 4 types of Main Advertising Channels, with each type applying a different set of commission rules or rates, i.e., Commission Model:
1) Default Commission Model: This model is applicable for channels that have declared by Participant, and are not the cashback/extension channels, dropshipping channels. Examples include SNS channels, and deal sites.
2) Cashback/Extension Channels Commission Model: cashback channels, loyalty channels and/or browser extensions/plug-ins who are not AliExpress partners of AliExpress;
3) Dropshipping Channels Commission Model: dropshipping channels (i.e., channels in connection with Qualifying Purchases made for the purpose of resale to end consumers), including dropshippers and technical service providers for dropshippers;
4) Non-Transparent Channels Commission Model: any channels that has not been declared by participant.

AliExpress will determine your type of Main Advertising Channel (evaluated on the level of account of Sub-participant, if applicable) based on the declaration made by you (via Portals>Settings>My websites or via Portals>Settings>Sub affiliates if you are a network-participant), the type of Advertising Channel where the GMV and/or commission mainly generated from, the main market of the Advertising Channel, and other relevant factors, at its reasonable sole discretion.

How to declare for reference for AliExpress to determine your Main Advertising Channel:
Please submit your main advertising channel via the following methods:
1) Declare as the first site/channel via "Portals>Settings>My websites>Site information";
2) For the account of your sub-participant (if applicable), declare as the first url on sub_publisher_url via "Portals>Settings>Sub affiliates"
Your Main Advertising Channel will decide the commission model applicable to you.
Please make sure the site information you declared is true, accurate and/or up-to-date, AliExpress reserve the rights to certain restrictive measures based on fraud.

 Your commission model and Corresponding Commission Rules/Adjustment of Commission Rates:

Default Commission Model
For all channels that have declared by Participant except cashback/extension or dropshipping channels, the main changes of the commission rule include:
1) The commission rate for Qualifying Purchases of all products will remain the same (see table below), including Qualifying Purchases for all Affiliate Products (including Qualifying Purchases made by New Buyers and those made by Old Buyers) and Non-Affiliate Products;
2) The commission rate for Qualifying Purchase for Hot Affiliate Products will be displayed in the "Hot Products" section of portals and/or the "Hot Products" displayed via designated API, and the applicable commission rate will be recorded in the system at time of a Qualifying Purchase is made.
3) The New Buyer Bonus will be increased (see table below).
4) Attribution for Qualifying Purchases will be optimized if more single items are promoted and more users are directed to AliExpress product page.

For a Qualifying Purchase made by a Buyer from a jurisdiction other than the Relevant Markets and the relevant AliExpress, if the relevant AliExpress Content is listed by a seller with the store ID below, will apply a special commission rate (1%, 2%, 0%, respectively, as detailed below), regardless of the category of the relevant Affiliate Products (including Hot Affiliate Products, Qualifying Purchases made by New Buyers and those made by Old Buyers) and/or Non-Affiliate Products and regardless of the type of Main Advertising Channel and/or applicable type of Commission Model or Rates:
